At Seymour House our homes have the philosophy that all residents should live in a home that adopts the person centred approach.

We take a cohesive approach and embrace emotional history, social backgrounds and psychology. Seymour House have also found that by embracing resident’s life histories, drawing on their life experiences and organising activities around this, can increase a resident’s well being, and sense of contentment.

Our environments are homely, and adapted to meet the needs of our residents. You will find an array of ‘things to do’, appropriate memorabilia, clutter and sensory objects. All bedroom doors have photos of the resident to aid orientation, memory boxes and other similar items fill the corridors. Our homes offer a home from home, a place of comfort, tranquillity and life.

At Seymour House we solely embrace the person centred model of care, and with this we find that relationships between residents and staff are reinforced. Furthermore, we support residents, not manage them. We view resident’s behaviours as forms of communication’. By delivering individualised activities and lifestyle residents are more relaxed and content.

We value and empower our residents, and work within a frame work that promotes their individuality because to us, everyone is unique.
